When I first met Nat & Shanagh I was nervous.
Butterflies in the stomach, check your teeth 300 times for spinach, nightmares about turning up in my underwear nervous. Well maybe not that bad, but when you are meeting your new fiancé’s oldest and best friends for the first time, the pressure is ON! Because they live in Queensland I managed to skip the initial light in the eyes, strapped to a chair in a warehouse screening process and went straight from girlfriend to fiancée without meeting them. For those of you who know Nat & Shanagh, being nervous about meeting them is about as logical as the Australia Post delivery guy who is scared of my dogs (he now just rings the gate bell and says “I’ll leave the package here” and runs away). They are awesome-sauce kinds of fun, fabulously genuine, gorgeous people. So we met, fears were quashed and I now count them as some of my best friends (I’m sure they like me better than hubby) and are pretty much unrelated family.
Our real bonding came at Nat & Shanagh’s wedding, when I met the fabulous Molly and Nathan – Shanagh’s sister & (sister’s) boyfriend. There’s nothing like a hens night on the gold coast to cement a friendship!
This awesome foursome all have such beautiful relationships. Nat & Shanagh have been together since they were about 2 months old (perhaps I exaggerate), and Molly & Nathan have followed each other all around Queensland while Molly was completing her pharmacy degree. And while they are a thousand laughs a minute, and it’s always a competition to see who gets the prize for the fastest/ funniest joke of the night, there is no doubting the massive love each couple has.
I took these photos of them, not to mark a special occasion, not to celebrate a wedding or an engagement, but purely to celebrate now. Their love, the amazing time they are having today. Just because. That’s amore.
That’s Amore Portrait Sessions
If you have a special occasion, birthday, engagement, celebration, or just because, why not take the time to stop, smell the roses, drink the wine, feel the love. That’s Amore.
These lyrics from the song say it all!
“When the world seems to shine like you’ve had too much wine, That’s amore”
“When you dance down the street with a cloud at your feet, You’re in love”
“When you walk down in a dream but you know you’re not dreaming signore”
And because it’s the one line everyone knows (but I really don’t get it!):
“When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, That’s amore”
Thanks for letting me take your pics! Now hurry up and move to WA! 🙂
